Charlie Walter 1990-2014

CWFour time Bedford Speedway Champion Charlie Walter passed away on Sunday morning after an auto accident.
 
He was born in Altoona, son of Charles L. Sr. and Linda L. (Clark) Walter. Charlie was married to Crickit L. Dibert.Surviving are his wife; two daughters: Payton and Natalie; a half-sister, Sheila Corle;
2 brothers: his twin, Chad and wife Cassie; and Curt.

He was a graduate of Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School, class of 2008; and a graduate of ACT 120 Johnstown Police Academy. Charlie was an auto mechanic at Walter’s Auto Wrecking.
He enjoyed spending time with his baby girls; race car driving, being a 4-time track champion at Bedford Speedway; he also enjoyed hunting and fishing.Friends will be received 2-4; 6-8 pm Friday, January 2, 2015 at Sorge Funeral Home, Inc., Hollidaysburg. A funeral service will be held 11 am Saturday at Hick’s Memorial United Methodist Church, Duncansville, by Rev. Rich Morris. Interment in Presbyterian Cemetery, Hollidaysburg.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Crickit for the care of their daughters.

In his Bedford racing career Charlie was the All-time win leader in the pure stock division (27 wins), with four pure stock titles. His 27 Bedford wins (all divisions combined) leaves him ranked 7th tied with Gary Stuhler, Brian Duffy, and Jim Sayler.
The deepest sympathies of everyone in the racing community are with the Walter family in this tough time.
