Over the last several weeks Mother Nature has not been a fan of racing at the Bedford Speedway. Rain after qualifications have been completed the last two weeks has left the track with a plethora of postponed feature events. With so many features postponed from the last few weeks, speedway officials have been forced to use some creative scheduling to get all of the events in.
The revised speedway schedule will now have a totally free spectator admission night on Friday July 17th, with seven makeup features being run.
The unique format will include the postponed Late Model, Late Model Sportsman, Semi Late and Pure Stock features from June 12th, following those features the makeup Late Model, Pure Stock, and Four Cylinders from June 19th will be run.
There will be no heat races that night as all racing will be comprised of make-up features held over from rain postponements on both June 12th and June 19th. As qualifying was completed on the original race date, the lineups are set for each of the postponed features.
Speedway gates will open at 5 pm, with warmups at 7:00 followed by the first feature at 7:30.
All general admission is free; pit admission will be $12.
Racing action on that night will include a pair of Late Model and Pure Stock features, and one feature each for the Late Model Sportsman, Semi Lates and Four Cylinders.
The ARDC Midgets, who several times attempted to start their feature event last Friday night, only to be continually interrupted by persistent rain showers will return on Friday June 10th. The ARDC Midgets will be running two feature events, the postponed race first then will return to the track later in the evening for a bonus feature.
Also scheduled on July 10th will be a regular show for the Late Models, Semi Lates, Modifeds and Four Cylinders, the postponed modified feature from June 12th will also be ran.
The speedway will be dark on Friday June 26th for Summer Break.
Racing action will return to Bedford on Friday July 3rd for the annual Milt Miller Tribute. The Super Late Models will be racing 40 laps for a $4000 to win, $400 to start purse. The show will utilize the Appalachian Mountain Speedweek rules, format, and purse. Joining the Late Models for the holiday special will be the Late Model Sportsman, Semi Lates and Pure Stocks.
