Bedford Off Season News & Notes

The Annual Bedford Speedway Awards Banquet will be held on Saturday night, January 25, 2020 at the Bedford Elks Ballroom. Awards will be distributed to the top ten in 2019 points standings in the Late Model, Late Model Sportsman, Semi Lates, Modifieds, Pure Stock & Four Cylinder divisions. Drivers must be in attendance or make prior arrangements to pick up awards. Tickets are $37 per person and must be ordered in advance by contacting the speedway office. The banquet is always a sellout and no tickets are sold at the door. 

 

Tailgate Spots around the track and grandstand reserved seats for the 2020 racing season are on sale now. Those wishing to renew the same spot that they had in previous years, may now do so. Spots will be reserved for their previous year’s owners until February 1st, 2020, at which time all remaining unsold spots will go on sale to the general public. Fans wishing to reserve their spot/seat from previous years please send a check made out to “B.A.C. Inc.” to P.O. Box 263, Bedford PA 15522. Tailgate spot and reserved seat prices remain the same as last year. If interested in reserving a spot or a seat, please contact the speedway office at 814-623-0500. We currently have a waiting list for tailgate spots; if spots come available those on the waitlist will be offered a spot.

 

The new season is tentatively scheduled to kick off with a test and tune session scheduled for Sunday afternoon March 29th. The 84th Anniversary Opening Day will be the following week on Sunday April 5th. Activities will begin early on Opening Day with the annual race car show, held in conjunction with the Chamber Home & Garden Show that afternoon.

 

Friday night racing will continue weekly throughout the summer concluding with the annual Keystone Cup weekend on September 25th & 26th. As is Bedford tradition the Late Models will headline the racing schedule with each Bedford division also highlighted throughout the season. The URC & USAC East Coast sprint series will make Bedford visits as well as two visits by the All Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Cars on April 19th and August 30th

 

The new schedule has 28 races on it, and will be published on this website completely by the end of December. Rules for each our divisions for 2020 will be posted on the speedway website in the coming weeks. Racers will not have any serious changes to the regulations. For any further rules questions please read them completely then call the speedway office for further clarification.
