The big fairgrounds track, which first featured racing in 1936, will commence on track activity on Saturday afternoon, March 24th with an open test and tune session. A second test and tune is scheduled for the following Saturday as well.

Racing action will commence with the 82nd Anniversary Season Opener on Friday April 6th. Opening night will feature the Late Models paying $2000 to win, joined by the Modifieds, Semi Lates and Pure Stocks.

The Late Models will compete weekly throughout the season, with several high profile races scheduled during the year. Each summer holiday will feature a special Late Model event, as well as the $8200 to win “Billy Winn Classic” on July 13th.

Bedford will host the first leg of the KRS Graphics sponsored Tri Track Challenge on June 1st, followed by races at Port Royal and Williams Grove.

The Late Models will also be a part of the “Clash for Cash” tour, with six different $3000 to win shows at six different tracks.

The 145th Annual Bedford Fair will again feature two days of racing, on Sunday and on Friday, allowing all of the regular Bedford divisions a chance to race at the fair.

Along with their stout weekly programs, each of the Bedford weekly divisions can look forward to several extra distance and extra purse shows during the season.

Special events by the All Star Sprints, URC Sprints, USAC East Coast Wingless Sprints and Laurel Highlands Racesaver Sprints are also planned.

Friday night racing continues throughout the summer, every week until September, concluding with the seventh annual Bedford Fall Fest during the final weekend of September.

Bedford fans can look forward to the usual array of upbeat and fun promotions next season. Parents are reminded that kids 12 and under are always free at Bedford and can look forward to such fun as the kids bike races, candy tosses, and kids racecar rides during the season.

The next event on the Bedford schedule will be the Annual Awards Banquet, honoring our racers for a fantastic race season. The Banquet will be on Saturday night, January 27th at the Bedford Elks Ballroom, located one mile south of Bedford on Business Route 220.
