4th Annual Bedford Fall Fest

The 2015 Bedford racing will come to a close on Friday night September 18th and Saturday Night September 19th with the Bedford Fall Fest.

Friday night racing action will feature the Super Late Models racing in a complete show with a 25 lap, $1500 to win feature, as well as qualifying heats for the Late Model Sportsman, Semi Lates, Modifieds, Pure Stocks and Four Cylinders. Read more »

Final Points Weekend

kpThis Friday night will be the biggest race of the season at Bedford, the 28th running of the Late Model Labor Day 55 Lap Classic.  The winner of the 55 Lap feature will be earning a $6055 payday. Also in action will be the Semi Lates, Modifieds, and Four Cylinders, the four cylinders will be running their regular show plus their makeup feature from last Friday. 

This will be the 28th running of the Labor Day Classic at Bedford, run in various forms and distances. When Chuck Brannon won the first race in 1988 it a 40 lap affair. The following year the race expanded to its traditional 55 lap distance for the first time, and has been that way for most years since. Traditionally the 55 is the longest, richest, and most prestigious event of the year on the Bedford schedule. Kenny Pettyjohn is the defending champion of the 55, taking his first career Bedford win in last season’s event. Read more »

Charlie Walter 42

August 26th, 2015
This Friday night the speedway will honor the memory of the late Charlie Walter. Charlie was a four time speedway Pure Stock champion who tragically passed away over the winter.
In action will be the Pure Stocks, racing 42 laps. They will be joined by the Late Model Sportsman, Racesaver 305 Sprints, Semi Lates, and 4 Cylinders.
The Walter family will be donating trophies for the winner and the hard charger for the Pure Stock feature, Charlie’s racecar will also be on display.  Read more »

Busy Few Weeks of Racing Coming Up

potwIt will be a doubleheader weekend at Bedford with racing action on both Friday and Sunday night this week.

Coming Friday night August 21st, will be the third running of the Muss Weyant Memorial Race for Semi Lates. This special event will be 35 laps and pay $1200 to the winner. Joining the Semi Lates on this special night will be the Late Models, Late Model Sportsman, Pure Stocks and Four Cylinders.

We would like to thank the Weyant family for gathering the support of several local businesses to put up an increased purse for this event. The purse for every position will be increased thanks to their support. Read more »

Makeup Features Night this Friday

July 16th, 2015

Friday night, July 17th will be a first of its kind event at the Bedford Speedway- all grandstand admission will be free. Set up as a result of a rainy June forcing several features to be postponed, Friday’s show will consist entirely of the feature events postponed from June 12th and June 19th. The unique show will be comprised of seven feature events.

There will be no heat races that night as all racing will be comprised of make-up features held over from rain postponements on both June 12th and June 19th. As qualifying was completed on the original race date, the lineups are set for each of the postponed features. In order to be fair to those drivers who qualified on the originally scheduled date, no additional starters will be allowed to join the field. Read more »

Sunday Night Racing….

July 4th, 2015
This Sunday night, July 5th will be the annual Milt Miller Tribute the Late Models will be racing 40 laps for a $4000 to win- $400 to start purse. Joining the Late Models will be the Late Model Sportsman, Semi Lates and Pure Stocks.

The show will utilize Appalachian Mountain Speedweek format, purse and rules. Loco- Motives Speedweek contingency awards will be given out with $100 Fast Time, $150 Hard Charger & multiple product awards.

On Sunday night the gates open at 4:00, warmups begin at 6:00 and racing begins at 6:30. General admission is $20, kids 12 and under are free and pit admission is $32.
 
Rainchecks from Friday night can be used at any 2015 race event at the speedway with the exception of the Bedford Fair race on July 31st.

Makeup Night- July 17th.

Over the last several weeks Mother Nature has not been a fan of racing at the Bedford Speedway. Rain after qualifications have been completed the last two weeks has left the track with a plethora of postponed feature events. With so many features postponed from the last few weeks, speedway officials have been forced to use some creative scheduling to get all of the events in.

The revised speedway schedule will now have a totally free spectator admission night on Friday July 17th, with seven makeup features being run.

The unique format will include the postponed Late Model, Late Model Sportsman, Semi Late and Pure Stock features from June 12th, following those features the makeup Late Model, Pure Stock, and Four Cylinders from June 19th will be run.   Read more »

7th Annual Loco- Motives Appalachian Mountain Speedweek

The annual Appalachain Mountain Speedweek Tour begins this Friday night at the Bedford Speedway

The Late Models will be racing in a 40 lap- $4000 to win event on the first night of the weeklong tour to five different speedways. Joining the Late Models will be the Late Model Sportsman and Semi Lates.

Last year’s Speedweek show was won by Delaware’s Austin Hubbard, who is expected to be in attendance joining many of the region’s top Late Model drivers in invading the Speedway. Drivers are reminded that the track will be using red AMB transponders for group time trials, they are available for rent at the track for those who need them.

Gates will open at 5:00 with warmups at 7:00 and racing at 7:30. General Admission will be $20 with kids 12 and under free, pit admission will be $32.
