COLE FALLOWAY TAKES BEDFORD $10,000

Cole Falloway  roared into Bedford and took the closing event of the annual fallfest weekend Saturday.   The win in the 39 lap annual Troutman tribute  EMod event was worth $10,000.    In the companion Limited Late Model event, Kyle Hardy took a convincing victory in the McBee owned 11 car.

Cole Falloway lined up 7th in the Emod event and started his march forward almost immediately as David Stremme led early.  Will Krup took second on lap two and immediately started working on Stremme for the lead.   But Falloway was on the move.   He was fourth on lap 6 and got by Friday winner Spike Moore on lap 8.   He quickly ran down the leaders, taking second from Krup on lap 11. SPIKE SPIKES THE FIELD AT BEDFORD

Greg Spike Moore rose to the occasion and dominated the EMod event as day two of the Troutman Tribute unfolded at Bedford Friday night.  In other action Kyle Deneen held off a late challenge to take the Semi Late event.

Spike Moore, the reigning track champion started the 30 lap EMod event from the pole after winning the fast time dash.   He out dragged fellow front row starter Kyle Strickler at the start and basically never looked back on the field after that.   Mason Zeigler and Will Krup both got by Strickler in the early laps and set up to chase Moore early.  Read more »

CHILDERS AND BRENIZE GRAB BEDFORD FALLFEST WINS

The annual Bedford fallfest  weekend, the Troutman memorial, opened Thursday night with 2024  consistent winners Chubby Childers and Wayne Brenize  capturing wins.   Childers took the Pure Stock event and Brenize was the 4 Cylinder winner.  Also on the program was a one off visit of Crown Vics won by Josh Ringer.

Chubby Childers was the Pure Stock pole sitter after post season pill draws    After having won several events this season from deep in the pack starts as a high point man, Childers made the most of his good luck. Read more »

IAN CUMENS CLOSES BEDFORD HOLIDAY ACTION WITH WIN

Ian Cumens made his long tow to Bedford a happy one as he snared the 305 feature at the track Sunday night.  Other action featured the last point races for each class and the titles were decided.  Bill Replogle took the Semi Late win, George Dixon took the Limited event, Denver Dishong hung on to win the Pure Stock race and Chris Graybill took the 4 Cylinder finale.

Mike Alleman took the first lap lead in the 305 event which was slowed, then stopped on lap two for a wild six car crash in turn one.  In the mayhem, Jay Fry flipped and Josh Spicer tipped while the others spun or crashed wildly, causing an extended red flag session. Read more »

ZEIGLER WAITS AND WAITS THEN WINS BEDFORD 55

For over 50 laps it appeared that Travis Stickley was going to win the biggest race of his career, but in the end it was Mason Zeigler on the stage after the annual Bedford Labor Day 55 Friday night. It was Zeigler’s second consecutive Labor Day event win at the track and was worth over $12000.  In other action. Mike Altobelli also repeated his 2023 event win as he prevailed in the EMod event

Travis Stickley burst into the early lead in the 55, run in honor of former driver and car owner Bob Elbin, and quickly pulled away from second place chaser Jeff Rine. driving the Elbin family car.  Zeigler easily threaded through early lapped traffic by lap 12 and actually increased his lead. HAINSEY AND MOORE CAPTURE BEDFORD EVENTS

The annual Muss Weyant event for the support classes featured two diametrically opposite feature events as well as two more happy first time winners at Bedford Friday night.  Greg Hainsey dominated the Semi Late event while Spike Moore  made a wild last lap move to snare the win in the EMods, before Braydale Bauman and Chris Graybill took their first ever wins in Pure Stock and 4 Cylinder action.

Greg Hainsey used a front row starting spot to grab the initial Semi Late lead.  He was hounded early by young Garrett Keifer but many eyes were on Kyle Deneen and Travis Calhoun as they charged forward from their  back row starting spots. Read more »

AUSTIN REED SWEEPS THROUGH BEDFORD SUNDAY

Austin Reed made a clean sweep in 305 action at Bedford Sunday night.  Reed set fast time and won his heat, before leading every lap to win the Junior Ritchey tribute 25 lap event in grand style.  In other action, Spike Moore came from deep in the pack to score the EMod win and Denver Dishong scored his first Pure Stock win of 2024.

Austin Reed started on the 305 pole and took off at the start. Brent Shearer took second early on but never really challenged Reed.  As the pair entered  traffic by lap 10, Shearer had hopes of closing, but the caution flew a lap later eliminating the traffic issue. Read more »

SPONAUGLE STARS AT THE BEDFORD FAIR

Only a few weeks after losing to Kyle Lee after a late race pass, Matt Sponaugle held off Lee to take a popular Late Model win at Bedford Friday night.  The win, part of the 150th Great Bedford Fair, was part of the Gary Martz Memorial event and was worth $3700 to the winner.  It was Sponaugle’s first win at the track in over two years.

In other action before the huge fair crowd were Kyle Deneen in the Semi Lates, Kyle Beckett in the Pure Stocks and Wayne Brenize in the 4 Cylinder finale.

When original pole sitter Clinton Hersh failed to answer the call, the Late Model front row became Matt Sponaugle and Tim Smith.  Sponaugle got the jump at the start and motored away to a large early lead. Read more »

WEYANDT LEADS 5 DOLLAR NIGHT WINNERS AT BEDFORD

Bedford Speedway ended the busiest section of the 2024 season, 4 events in 10 days, with the annual $5 night Friday.  Four happy winners emerged from the action including Devin Weyandt in the Limiteds, Travis Calhoun in the Semi Lates, Charlie Clise in the Pure Stocks and Isaac Komanski in the 4 Cylinder finale before the annual fireworks show thrilled the crowd.

Kaiden Bard jumped into the early Limited lead from his front row start.  Running the best race of his Bedford career, Bard pulled away from the slim field before a quick caution flew on lap 4.   Although heavy hitters and the top two in points lined up behind him, Devin Weyandt and Shawn Shoemaker, Bard again got away on the restart and continued to lead. PIERCE CONTINUES HOT STREAK AT BEDFORD SPEEDWAY

Bobby Pierce, winner of several high dollar races in the past few weeks, continued his hot streak as he dominated the World of Outlaws  event at Bedford Thursday night.  The win in the annual Billy Winn classic honoring the first ever winner at the track in 1936, was worth $15,000 to the Illinois driver and he became the 159th winner at the historic track.

In the companion EMod event, Spike Moore came from the pack and rallied late to score another 2024 win.

After the redraw, the Late Model event started with Brian Shirley and Bobby Pierce on the front row.  Shirley got the jump at the start but Pierce shot by on the back stretch to lead the first lap.    He then led every one of the 45 laps to score the win. Read more »
