A New Chapter Begins…

December 9th, 2011

[singlepic id=47 w=320 h=240 float=right]We are looking forward to bringing an exciting weekly racing program to the Bedford Fairgrounds each and every Friday night during the 2012 racing season. I personally would like to thank JR and his team for the fine job they have done over the last decade, as well as the Bedford Fair Association for allowing us to race. It is our goal to provide a show that is very efficiently run, fair to the competitors and provides a great value for the fans.

Next year at Bedford, fans and racers can expect a racing program that is very similar to that at Thunder Valley. It is our goal to have the car rules and race procedures be the same at both tracks. While some minor adjustments are possible, the rules at both tracks will not see much in the way of changes.  A final version of the rules will be released shortly.

A pre-season car show, open to all racers is planned for the beginning of April at the speedway in conjunction with the Bedford County Home Show. Opening day for the speedway is tentatively scheduled for Friday night April 20th, with Friday night racing continuing every week until September. An open practice session for all divisions is scheduled for Sunday afternoon April 15th.

The first event of the local racing season will be the “Icebreaker 50” on Saturday April 14th, 2012 at Thunder Valley. This event will feature the Front Wheel Drive Four Cylinders racing 50 laps for a record $2000 to win. Also being featured will be a 25 lap Pure Stock feature and a small car demolition derby with $500 going to the derby winner.

For more information about each track please visit or, or call the track office at 240-382-0526.
