This Friday night the Speedway returns to action with a five division slate of racing on the card. Highlighting Friday’s card will be the Spring Championship for the Late Models, who will be racing 30 laps for $2000 to win. Also in action will be the Semi Lates, Modifeds, Four Cylinders as well as the first visit of the year by the Laurel Highlands Racesaver 305 Sprint Series.
General admission on Friday will be $12, with kids under 12 free and pit admission will be $25. Gates will open at 5:00, with warmups at 7:00 and racing action commencing at 7:30.

Friday night’s event format will be as follows:
All drivers will draw for heat race starting positions.
For the special event the Late Model feature will be lined up by passing points earned in the heat races. Drivers will receive points based on their finishing order in their heat race. The winner receives 59 points, 2nd– 55, 3rd-51, 4th– 47, 5th– 43, 6th– 39, 7th-35. 8th– 31, 9th– 27, 10th– 23. Drivers will then receive points based on how many spots they advance during their heat. Drivers receive 1.76 points per spot advanced from starting position to finishing position. After the heats, all drivers point totals are added up to determine the top 12 starting spots in the feature with the highest point total starting on the pole.
Drivers will be lined up for the feature based on their passing points total (highest to lowest) with these exceptions: a)Last week’s feature winner can start no lower than 8th, b) High point average can start no higher than 6th, c) Low point average receives a 3.00 point bonus, d) Drivers who have missed both of the previous two races receive a 5.00 point deduction.
The Modifeds and Four Cylinder feature lineup to be determined by points handicapping, the
Semi Lates (who with only one event don’t have a point average) and the visiting Sprints will pill draw for the feature.
