Bedford off season notes…

November 7th, 2017

With the 2017 Bedford Speedway racing season in the books, work has begun preparing for the 2018 season. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supported racing at the Bedford Speedway this year. The positive response from racers and fans throughout the season has been absolutely amazing, and it is very much appreciated. We would also like to send a special thank you to the Bedford County Agricultural Society for providing us with a fantastic facility to race at. While weather was a constant problem this year, the speedway was still able to complete 22 shows this season.

Moving forward to next year, many plans are in the works to continue to provide our fans and racers with a fantastic racing experience.

Tickets are currently on sale for the Annual Bedford Awards Banquet. The banquet will be held on Saturday night, January 27th 2018 at the Bedford Elks Ballroom. Awards will be distributed to the top ten in points in the Late Models, LM Sportsman, Semi Lates, Modifieds, Pure Stocks and Four Cylinders. Tickets are $37.00 per person and must be ordered from the speedway office in advance, the banquet is always a sellout and no tickets are sold at the door.

Tailgate Spots around the track and grandstand reserved seats for the 2018 racing season are on sale now. Those wishing to renew the same spot that they had in previous years, at the same price, may now do so. Spots will be reserved for their previous year’s owners until February 1st, 2018, at which time all remaining unsold spots will go on sale to the general public. Fans wishing to reserve their spot/seat from previous years please send a check made out to “B.A.C. Inc.” to PO Box 263, Bedford PA 15522. If interested in reserving a spot, please contact the speedway office via email at, to get put on the tailgate waiting list.

The new season is tentatively scheduled to kick off with a test and tune session scheduled for Sunday afternoon, March 25th 2018. Opening Day will be Friday evening, April 6th, 2018. The annual car show, help in conjunction with the Bedford Home Show will be at the track on Sunday April 8th.  Friday night racing will continue throughout the summer, concluding at the end of September with the annual Fall Fest. The new schedule has 28 races on it, full of old favorites and some new surprises.

Look for more exciting news about 2018 to be released in the coming weeks as there are quite a few revelations in the works for next season.

The completed 2018 race schedule will be posted on this website in December.

Rules for each our divisions are currently being evaluated and will be posted on this website in the next few weeks. Racers should not expect any serious changes to the regulations.

Thanks for a great race season and have a wonderful winter everyone!
