Appalachian Mountain Speedweek hit Bedford Speedway Friday night, and the fans were given a night to remember. Gregg Satterlee won the 35-lap event after holding off a field of stiff competition all night. The Wingless Super Sportsman also made a stop at the track on Friday night with Tony Jackson taking home the victory. Braydale Bauman took home his second Pure Stock victory of 2026 as well.
A stacked field of Late Model drivers took to the track to start the 35-lap event. Matt Sponaugle, Bryan Bernheisel, Gregg Satterlee, Tyler Emory, and Spike Moore made up the top five to start. Once the race was underway Bernheisel made the first move to the front of the pack, but Sponaugle and Satterlee weren’t going to give up that quickly. For every move Bernheisel made Satterlee had an answer. Satterlee refused to give Bernheisel an inch as he hounded him around the track. A short caution came out early and Satterlee finally got by Bernheisel after the field went green again. Entering the top four about this time was Jeff Rine, who originally started 7th in the field, having worked his way past Tyler Emory and Spike Moore. Rine now started the arduous battle with Matt Sponaugle for third place.
Satterlee’s lead on the field began to widen with Bernheisel not far behind and a determined Rine chasing them both down. Meanwhile the rest of the field was breathing down Matt Sponaugle’s neck for fourth place. Sponaugle, Emory, and Shawn Shoemaker, originally having started 10th, took turns holding the fourth-place position throughout the second half of the race. With five laps to go Satterlee started to catch some lap traffic, but it didn’t slow him down. Satterlee made it look easy as he took the checkered flag on lap 35 followed by Bernheisel, Shoemaker, Sponaugle, and Emory.
Late Model heat race winners: Jeff Rine, Trever Feathers.
In the Pure Stock division, Braydale Bauman and Madison Miller could not be contained. After finding their one-two spots following the green flag they took off leaving the rest of the field to give chase. Bauman and Miller were followed across the finish line by Shawn Wyles, having made his way up from his sixth-place starting spot, Charlie Clise and Denver Dishong.
Pure Stock heat race winners: Charlie Clise, Braydale Bauman.
Tony Jackson took home the win for the Wingless Super Sportsman followed by Brad Mellott, Craig Perigo, Donnie Farlling, and Hunter Fulton.
Wingless Super Sportsman heat race winners: Tony Jackson.
