After extensive work trying to find a raindate for the 410 Sprint Car Dirt Classic Qualifier that was rained out on June 8th, the final decision has been made not to schedule a make up. After trying a variety of options to find a date that would work for all parties involved it became apparent that no such date would be available. Dirt Classic Qualifier
July 12th, 2014Doubleheader weekend coming up…..
July 3rd, 2014Bedford will be back in action Friday night, July 11th with a program featuring the Late Models, Racesaver 305 Sprints, Modifieds, Pure Stocks racing 20 laps and the Four Cylinders. Also on Friday night will be the kids bike races.
With the shuffling in the schedule due to the July 3rd rainout, the originally scheduled show for Saturday July 12th will be cancelled. In its place will be the rescheduled Three State Flyers Milt Miller Tribute on Sunday night July 13th. The TSF Late Models will be racing 35 laps for $4000 to win on Sunday night with racing action beginning at 7:30. Joining them will be the Late Model Sportsman, Semi Lates and Four Cylinders.
Bedford will then be off the following week for fair preperation, with the 141st annual Bedford Fair Sweepstakes race scheduled for Friday night July 25th.
Milt Miller Tribute…..

This Thursday night the Three State Flyers Late Models will invade the Bedford Fairgrounds for the second running of the “Milt Miller Tribute”. The TSF Late Models will be competing 35 laps for a $4000 to win, $400 to start purse. Also on the schedule for this Thursday will be the Laurel Highlands Racesaver 305 Sprints, Semi Lates, and Pure Stocks. In appreciation of the pure stock division this year they will be running a 15 lap feature this week with $200 going to the winner.
On Thursday the gates open at 5:00, warmups begin at 7:00 and racing begins at 7:30. General admission is $20, kids 12 and under are free and pit admission is $30.
Racing action this week is in memory of Milt Miller, who passed away in 2012. Miller began his driving career in 1964, quickly became a winning contender and by 1966 won the super modified championship at the South Penn and Hesston Speedways. In 1967, he was named driver of the Orville F. Conner Motor Transportation #49 “Hemi Hummer” Super Modified and went on to several feature wins that year. Read more »
URC Sprints visiting this week….
June 23rd, 2014[singlepic id=87 w=320 h=240 float=right]This Friday night features the second visit of the year of the always exciting URC Sprint series. Joining them will be the Late Model Sportsman, Semi Lates, Pure Stocks, Modifieds as well as a special visit by the Penn- Mar Vintage Car Club.
The URC Sprints come in to Bedford with Davie “No Panic” Franek of Wantage, NJ leading the points. In the two previous visits to Bedford, Robbie Stillwaggon thrilled the fans to score the win each time. Without a doubt, Stillwaggon has established a strong fan base at the western Pennsylvania oval. Saturday night at Grandview, mechanical problems forced Stillwaggon to change cars and start eighteenth in the main event. Without the help of caution flags, Stillwaggon powered his way to a strong fourth place finish.
This weeks racing action will be presented by the SAC Inc. family of companies in Bedford. These include SAC/ Shell shops, True Value Hardware, Interchange Parts and Quality Inn.
General admission for this special event will be $15, with kids 12 and under free. Pit admission will be $25.
Coming next Thursday in honor of Independence Day will be the second annual Milt Miller Tribute for the Late Models. Joining them will be the Semi Lates, Pure Stocks and Laurel Highlands Racesaver Sprint Cars. In deference to the July 4th holiday being on Friday, we will be racing Thursday night.

Bedford This Week….
June 16th, 2014This Friday night marks the first ever appearance at Bedford by the National Dirt Racing League Northeast series. In conjunction with the event Port Royal Speedway on Saturday night, the NDRL Late Models will be racing in a 35 lap, $3000 to win main event. Joining them will be the Late Model Sportsman, Semi Lates and Four Cylinders. The kids candy toss, postponed due to last Fridays rainout will also be on the agenda.
Gates will open at 5:00, with warmups at 7:00, and racing action getting started at 7:30.
Western PA driver Keith Barbara is the current NDRL Northeast point leader over Max Blair, Mike Knight, Justin Kann and Jared Miley. Gregg Satterlee, Kann and Miley are all winners on the tour so far this season.
In Late Model action at Bedford there has been five different winners in seven events, Dylan Yoder, Jeff Rine, Gregg Satterlee, Austin Hubbard and Matt Parks.
General Admission for this Friday night’s show will be $18, with kids 12 and under admitted free. Pit admission will be $28.

Sprints at Bedford This Week…..
June 3rd, 2014This Sunday will mark the annual return of the 410 Sprint Cars to the historic Bedford oval. The Sprints will be racing 30 laps for $5000 to win, making Sundays show easily one of the biggest Sprint car events in the speedways history. Also on the card will be the Late Model Sportsman and Four Cylinders.
This Sundays race will be a qualifier for the first of two guaranteed starting spots in September’s $20,000-to-win Dirt Classic Presented By Kasey Kahne. Read more »
6th Annual Harbaugh Amusement Appalachian Mountain Speedweek
May 29th, 2014Bedford Speedway will be dark this Friday in deference to the Applachian Mountain Speedweek event at Roaring Knob. Racing action will return on Sunday, June 1st with the Speedweek series returning for a 40 lap, $4000 to win main event. Joining the Late Models will be the Late Model Sportsman, Semi Lates and Modifieds.
Gates will open at 2pm for a fan fest at the track, the fan fest will feature a cornhole tournament, music, driver meet and greets, displays and fun. Fans are welcome to arrive at the track early Sunday to partake in the activities. On track activity will commence with warmups at 6PM and Late Model time trials beginning at 6:30. Read more »
Rain Sweeps Bedford Doubleheader.
May 11th, 2014Mother Nature was the winner on both Friday night and Saturday night this week as rain washed out both nights of racing action at the Bedford Speedway. Friday nights racing program was delayed by a brief shower before warmups, then again during the first session of heat races. Both times the track crew ran the track back in and had it ready to race. As racing resumed following the second rain delay the Late Models took to the track for their first heat race, before the field could take the green heavy rains began, finally forcing the track to cancel the nights racing activities. Bedford’s first “Speedy Saturday” show the next night fared no better, as heavy storms moved into the area during the afternoon, forcing another cancelation.
Bedford Speedway will resume racing action this Friday, May 16th, with a special visit by the URC Sprint Series, for the first of two 2014 visits to the track. In their previous visit last June Robby Stillwaggon took the victory from 12th starting spot in a feature that went 25 laps all green. Joining the URC Sprints will be the Late Models, Semi Lates, Modifieds and Four Cylinders. Gates will open at 5:00 with warmups at 7:00 and racing beginning at 7:30. General admission will be $18, with kids 12 and under free. Pit admission will be $25.

Bedford this week….
May 8th, 2014This week will be a doubleheader racing weekend with racing on both Friday and Saturday nights. In action on Friday night will be the Late Models, Modifieds, Pure Stocks, and Four Cylinders, as well as the first visit of the year by the Laurel Highlands Racesaver 305 Sprint series.
General admission on Friday will be $12, with kids 12 and under free, pit admission will be $25.
On Saturday night the Late Model Sportsman will be in action for a 20 lap feature with $850 going to the winner, joining them will be the Semi Lates, Pure Stocks, Four Cylinders and the All American Outlaws. The first of two kids bike races this year will also be taking place. There will also be a special surprise for the mothers in attendance, in honor of Mother’s Day. The Late Model Sportsman will be racing for an increased purse, but to avoid conflicts for drivers who may race at other Saturday night tracks; it will be a non-point event for that division only.
For the special Saturday show general admission will be only $8, with kids as always free, pit admission is $25 .
