NEW WINNERS CLOSE BEDFORD FALLFEST

September 25th, 2022

The 3 day 2022 Bedford fallfest ended Saturday night and produced two new first time Bedford feature winners.    Ethan Dotson made his long commute  worthwhile as he easily claimed the EMod event and Andrew Yoder took the Limited win as each added their names to the list of Bedford winners.   The wins were worth over $12000 for Dotson and $2000 for Yoder

Dotson made it look easy in the EMod 39 lapper.  He got by fellow front row starter  Drake Troutman at the drop of the green and pretty much never looked back, holding a 4 second lead by the time of the first caution on lap 30.

Troutman held on to second ahead of  Joel Watson   until he dropped out on lap 22.  Watson inherited that spot at that point but he had his hands full with 2022 track champion Mike Altobelli.  Altobelli  several times drew along side Watson but could not effect a pass. Read more »

The annual Bedford Fallfest, this year a 3 day event, opened Thursday night at the track.   After perhaps the best  Pure Stock race of the season, Kevin Weyandt held off Kyle Beckett for the exciting win.  Although  possibly the most experienced driver in the field, it was Weyandt’s first Bedford win in over ten years.  Unlike Weyandt, who survived a dog fight,  Kevin Van Horn rallied late to take the CrateMod win and Colin Welsh led late to win the 4 Cylinder finale.

Kevin Weyandt  started on the front row in the 20 lap pill draw Pure Stock event.   He wrestled the lead from pole sitter Denver Dishong at the start, but his battle was not over.      Kyle Beckett also got  by Dishong on lap one and instantly set upon Weyandt at the front.  For the first nine laps the pair ran pretty much side by side,  with Becketts  inching ahead in the turns but Weyant  shooting by on the straights.  Read more »
