Feathers Ruffled, But Not Overtaken

May 31st, 2026

Trever Feathers brought home his second 2026 Bedford Speedway victory on Friday night. Feathers held off a hungry late model field for 30 laps getting to stand in victory lane on Bob Elbin Memorial night at the track. Joining the growing list of winners that night was Chubby Childers in the Semi Lates, Ryan Lynn in the Laurel Highland 305 Sprint Series, Charlie Clise and Jake Waugh in twin Crown Vic feature events.

The late models took the green and Feathers flew to the front only to be contained by an early caution. Kyle Hardy took advantage of the restart jumping to chase Feathers down as they began to navigate lapped traffic but was no match for the flying Feathers machine. Feathers continued to fight through lapped traffic while behind him Jeff Rine was smoothly making his way forward from his 13th starting position, JT Spence pushed forward from his 9th starting position, and Matt Cosner danced through field from his 6th place starting spot. Kyle Hardy’s night was upended after a brush with the turn 1 wall bringing out a late caution. The final laps of the race were a chase as Gregg Satterlee, originally starting 7th, tried to close the gap on Feathers. Feathers crossed the finish line followed by Greg Satterlee, Matt Cosner, JT Spence, and Jeff Rine.

Late Model heat race winners: Kyle Hardy, Gregg Satterlee.

Chubby Childers brought home his second Semi Late win of the 2026 season. Childers originally started 10th and took advantage of every lap he had to fight to the front. Bob Jay and Kyle Deneen controlled the front of the pack for the first half of the race, but Childers wasn’t far behind. Deneen had to fight off Greg Cornell to hold his pole position. It may have looked like Deneen was in the clear, but Childers hadn’t given up and was moving to close the gap with 5 to go. Childers knew the clock was ticking and made several attempts to pass but Deneen held on. With 1 lap to go the pair raced neck and neck down the backstretch and Childers finally got by in turn 4 to take the checkered flag. Childers was followed by Kyle Deneen, Brian Weyandt, Garrett Keifer, and Greg Cornell.

Semi Late heat race winners: Garrett Keifer, Rick Potter.

The Laurel Highland 305 Sprint Car Series made a trip to the speedway and Ryan Lynn managed to hold off the field to achieve his first 2026 Bedford Speedway victory.

Laurel Highland 305 Sprint Car Series heat race winners: Dylan Shatzer, Kasey Weaver.

Thirty cars signed in to the pits in the Crown Vic division. As a result of the large field the cars were split into two ten lap features. The first feature was won by Charlie Clise who now gets to add a Crown Vic victory to his resume which already includes two 2026 Bedford Speedway wins in the Pure Stock division. Jake Waugh was the winner of the second Crown Vic feature.

Crown Vic heat race winners: Collton Replogle, Charlie Clise, Brady Chabol.
