This Friday night the 2017 Bedford racing season will officially get begin. Competing in racing action will be the Late Models, Modifieds, Semi Lates, Pure Stocks and Four Cylinders. In cooperation with our friends at Hagerstown, the winner of Friday night’s Late Model opener will become an automatic qualifier for the Hagerstown Speedway 70^th Anniversary race. In turn, Gary Stuhler, the winner Hagerstown’s opener this past Saturday night has become an automatic qualifier to Bedford’s 81^st Anniversary race on July 14^th which will pay $8100 to win.

Bedford hosted its annual car show and test and tune day this Sunday. A nice turnout of 63 cars, and a good crowd of spectators were on hand preparing for the 2017 season championship.  A special thanks goes out to everyone who came to the speedway on Sunday.  Read more »

Racers notes and some things of interest regarding the upcoming Bedford racing season which kicks off on Sunday April 2^nd, with the annual car show and practice session.

Late Model 600th Race Celebration: This year the speedway will be hosting its 600^th Late Model feature event, dating back to 1965 when what we now call Late Models began running at Bedford. During that time there have been 138 different drivers claim a Bedford win. To mark the 600^th Late Model race in Bedford history, we will be inviting each of the 138 Bedford Late Model winners to the track on Friday June 16^th for a tribute. Read more »

While winter continues to descend on Western Pennsylvania, Bedford Speedway is preparing for the 2017 racing season. Speedway officials have released the schedule for the new year of racing which will feature 29 nights of racing action.

The big fairgrounds track, which first featured racing in 1936, will commence on track activity on Sunday afternoon April 2^nd with the annual car show held at the track in conjunction with the Bedford Home & Garden Show.

Immediately following the car show will be a test and tune session open to all racers. Opening Day will officially kick off the 2017 racing season the following week on Friday April 7th. Read more »

The 2016 Bedford racing season begins to wind down with the annual Labor Day 55 next week and Fall Fest on Friday night September 16^th and Saturday Night September 17^th.

Friday night, September 2^nd will be the 29^th running of the Late Model Labor Day 55 Classic presented by the SAC Inc. family of companies. Also in action that night will be the Semi Lates, Modifieds and Four Cylinders. As always, Labor Day weekend will conclude points racing for all divisions. Read more »

It will be a doubleheader weekend at Bedford with racing action on both Friday and Sunday night this week.

Coming Friday night August 19th will be the annual “Legends of Route 30 Night” featuring a car show and on track exhibition from the classic racers of the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing. The Late Models will be in action racing 30 laps for $2500 to win joined by the Semi Lates, Modifieds and Four Cylinders.

Friday general admission will be $15, kids 12 and under free and pit admission will be $25. Read more »

This Friday night, July 15^th the Bedford Speedway will be celebrating 80 years of racing at the Fairgrounds oval. An exciting night of racing is planned with the Super Late Models racing 50 laps for an $8000 to win top prize.

Friday’s racing program is dedicated to the memory of Billy Winn, one of the top dirt racers of the 1930’s and the winner of the first auto race at the Bedford on September 5^th 1936. Winn, a 2003 inductee of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame in Knoxville was one of the most outstanding racers of the depression era AAA circuit. Not limiting himself to dirt, Winn also competed eight times at the Indianapolis 500. Read more »
