This Friday night we will be in action with the final point event of the year for the Late Model Sportsman. They will be racing 25 laps with $1000 to going to the winner. Also in action will be the Semi Lates, Modifieds, Pure Stocks and Four Cylinders. They will be joined by the Penn-Mar Vintage Car Club, who will be racing as well. This Friday’s racing program will be presented by Blackburn- Russell Food Distributors.

Sunday evening, September 1^st will be the 26^th Annual Labor Day Classic for the Three State Flyers Late Models. The Late Models will be racing the traditional 55 lap distance, with $5055 going to the winner. Joining the Late Models will be the Semi Lates, Modifieds, Pure Stocks and Four Cylinders.

[singlepic id=84 w=320 h=240 float=right]This Fridays nights race program is dedicated to the memory of Billy Winn, one of the most famous racers of the 1930’s and the winner of the first race at the Bedford Speedway on September 4^th 1936. Since that first AAA Sanctioned event, the speedway has been in nearly continuous operation for the past 77 seasons. Bedford is the oldest currently operation track in Pennsylvania, and one of the oldest in the country.

James Murdock “Billy” Winn (1909–1938) was born in Kansas City Missouri on August 27^th 1909. By the early 1930’s Mr. Winn had risen to prominence on the big dirt and board tracks on the east. Eventually racing primarily in AAA National Championship events, he was dubbed “The Red Devil” because of his trademark flaming red helmet and shirt he raced in. Mr. Winn is credited with AAA Championship wins at the big tracks at Springfield Illinois, Syracuse New York and Milwaukee Wisconsin, among others between 1934 and 1937. Mr. Winn competed in the Indianapolis 500 8 times during this period, with a best finish of 9^th driving a Duesenberg in 1932. Read more »

This Friday, August 2nd will be our Crusin’ for Courtney Fan Appreciation race. General Admission will be just $5.00 for adults, and as always kids 12 and under will be admitted free. The All American Outlaws will be making their annual visit to the speedway, joining our Late Model Sportsman, Semi Lates, Modifieds, Pure Stocks and Four Cylinders. There will also be a fireworks show.

A great tradition returns to the Fairgrounds this week as the annual celebration of the Bedford Fair commences this Sunday. We welcome you to come enjoy the family friendly fun of the fair all week long.

Mother Nature was not a race fan this weekend at the Bedford Speedway. Rain showers washed out both attempts to run the Milt Miller Tribute Three State Flyers Late Model event Friday night and again on the Sunday evening raindate.

The Miller Tribute will resume this Sunday July 14^th setting up a double header weekend with the originally scheduled racing program on Friday evening July 12^th. The TSF Late Models will be competing in a 35 lap main with $3000 going to the winner. Also racing that night will be the Semi Lates, Modifieds, Pure Stocks and Four Cylinders. Read more »

The Three State Flyers Milt Miller Tribute will resume tomorrow night, Sunday July 7th. The show will resume at the point that it was stopped from Friday night with the fourth late model heat taking the track, followed by Pure Stock and Four Cylinder heats then features for all four divisions. What this means for each division: LATE MODELS- The first three heats are completed and their lineup in the A-main, and B-main is locked in, the fourth heat will be completed Sunday. Any new Late Models that choose to come main tag on the rear of the B-main.  SEMI LATE- The feature line up is locked in from Friday night, any new cars may come Sunday and join the tail of the feature field. PURE STOCK and FOUR CYLINDER- The heat lineup is locked in from Friday, your lineup for heats will be the one that was on the board Friday night. Any new cars are welcome to come and tag on the rear of the heats. Gates will open at 4:00, warmups at 6:00 and the late model 4th heat will begin at 6:30. Rainchecks from this Friday are GOOD for this Sundays show, for those without a raincheck general admission will be $18, kids 12 and under free and pits $28.
