Join us as we kick off the 2013 racing season this Sunday, April 7th with a race car show, immediately followed by a practice session open to all divisions. The car show will begin at 11AM at Jordan Hall, near the speedways main entrance. At the conclusion of the car show, the track will be open for practice. Any racer is welcome to bring his car to the track. Admission to both the car show and to the grandstands is free. Pit Gates will open at 2PM and pit admission will be $20.00. Practice is scheduled to begin at 3PM.

March 4th, 2013The Bedford Speedway 2013 racing season will begin on Sunday April 7th with a car show and a practice session that will be open to all competitors. The car show will begin at 11AM at Jordan Hall, located inside the main gate of the Bedford Fairgrounds. The show is again being held in conjunction with the Bedford County Home & Garden Show. All racers are welcome to display their cars, this is a great opportunity to show off your new car prior to the season. On track activity will begin at 3PM with a practice session also open to all racers. Grandstand admission will be free, pit admission is $20.00, gates open to the pit area at 2PM.
Speedway releases 2013 Schedule; Opening Day April 14th.
January 31st, 2013BEDFORD, PA- As springtime rapidly approaches, Western Pennsylvania’s Bedford Speedway has officially unveiled its 2013 racing schedule. The big Fairgrounds track, which first featured racing in 1936, will be racing 25 times this season.
The 2013 racing season officially kicks off on Sunday morning April 7th with a car show at the Jordan Hall Exhibition Center at the Fairgrounds. As in previous years it will be held in conjunction with the Bedford County Home Show. Immediately following the Car Show there will be an on track Test and Tune session, open to all competitors.
As is tradition each summer holiday will feature a special Late Model event. These will be featuring the Three State Flyers Late Models making appearances on Memorial Day May 27th for the “Milt Miller Tribute” and Friday July 5th for the “Johnny Grum Tribute”. Both of these events will be 35 laps with the winner taking home $3000. The final Three State Flyers appearance of the season will be the 26th Annual “Labor Day Classic”, on its traditional Labor Day Monday date this year. Trucks for Maddox
November 16th, 2012A “Trucks for Maddox” NEW toy truck/car/tractor collection drive will be held on Saturday November 24th from 10am-2pm at the Galleria Mall in Johnstown!
The event and NEW toy truck collection drive is being held in honor of, and to celebrate the life and memory of two year-old Maddox Derkosh, who tragically lost his life in an accident at the Pittsburgh Zoo two weeks ago and was laid to rest on Nov 9th. Read more »

November 8th, 2012Bedford Speedway will be introducing the e-mod division at the track next season. Across the country the e-mod concept has proven to be highly successful. It is a division with a proven formula of keeping costs down, providing exciting racing and having a fair and uniform set of rules.
It is our intention to provide competitors with a division that is affordable, has readily available parts, and is fun. The e-mod concept has proven to be successful throughout the country and we feel that introducing this division will help ensure the long term health of racing in this area. Our rules will utilize IMCA style e-mod specifications. We intend to introduce this division next season and intend for it to grow and thrive, providing those who wish to race a great chance to do so. The e-mod concept benefits racers; it is competitive and has common rules across the country. Tailgate Spots and Reserved Seats…
November 6th, 2012Tailgate Spots around the track and Grandstand reserved seats for the 2013 racing season are on sale now. Those wishing to renew the same spot that they had in previous years, at the same price, may now do so. Spots will be reserved for the previous years owners until March 1st 2013, at which time all remaining spots will go on sale to the general public. Bedford Speedway Salutes 2012 Champions
September 11th, 2012Bedford’s own Jack Pencil claimed his record 7th Late Model Championship this year. Combined with two Semi Late titles from the 90’s, this is Pencils 9th Bedford title overall. Pencil claimed three wins this year, giving him 31 Late Models wins total; good for second all-time behind Scott Haus. Pencil has had a storied Bedford career having claimed wins in four different divisions as well as having the most career wins at the track in all divisions combined.
Second generation driver Mike Altobelli, Jr. of Saxton won his first Bedford title in the Late Model Sportsman division in 2012. Altobelli maintained a consistent pace running up front almost every week, with a June victory to his credit. With his first Bedford championship to his name, Altobelli now also ranks fourth in total Late Model Sportsman wins. Read more »
