Rain Checks are good for any race during the remainder of the season. Except for the Fair Events. For events with increased admission, rainchecks may be used along with paying the difference in admission.

The track is available for rental for practice and testing through the week. Interested parties will have use of the track for several hours of practice time. This is a great opportunity for drivers to get some extra track time and experience. For more information about practicing at the track please contact the track office.

Racers Swap Meet will be held on Saturday Afternoon October 20th at the Fairgrounds’ Jordan Hall. Admission will be FREE to attend, those interested in selling products at the swap meet please contact the speedway office to reserve a spot.

In appreciation of the fantastic racing that our Late Models have provided over the first 8 races of the season, as well as in recognition of the tremendous support we have received from our competitors we will be raising the Late Model purse, beginning this week June 22nd. The Late Models will now race for a $1400.00 to win, $140.00 to start purse for a regular 25 lap feature. All competitors not starting the feature will continue to receive $50.00 tow money.

[singlepic id=63 w=320 h=240 float=right]Sunday’s special Sprint car race will be in honor of the late businessman and race car owner, Roy Morral of Breezewood.  Morral was one of the movers and shakers of local auto racing for more than 30 years.

Locally, Morral was most known for his partnership with Everett driver Jr Ritchey from the early 60’s to 1969 in Modified, Super Modified and Sprint car competition and in 1978 with a Late Model stock car.  Also Morral promoted weekly Super Modified and Semi-Late Model racing events at the Bedford Speedway in 1965 and 1966 and was the first promoter to install lights and conduct night racing.  Racing programs at Bedford from 1936 to 1964 was held either on Saturday or Sunday afternoons.

Morral and Ritchey first found victory lane locally at the former South Penn Speedway in Everett, but soon ventured “down east” to Port Royal and Williams Grove by 1963.  The 880 team with its signature spit polished light blue and white painted Modified became one of the top cars quickly and is credited as the first Bedford County team to achieve outside success.  In 1963 Ritchey and Morral made headlines by qualifying for the first  Williams Grove National Open modified race which was won by future Indy car standout Gordon Johncock. BEDFORD,PA.Former Super Modified, Sprint car and Late Model stand out,Milton“Milt” Miller, ofBedford,Pa.passed away Sunday April 15, 2012 at the age of 79.

Miller began his driving career in 1964, quickly became a winning contender and by 1966 won the super modified championship at the South Penn and Hesston Speedways. In 1967, he was named driver of the Orville F. Conner Motor Transportation #49 “Hemi Hummer” Super Modified and went on to several feature wins that year.

Greater success would follow in 1968 when Conner named future Hall of Fame car builder and driver, Gary Martz, as crew chief. Read more »

The Pennsylvania Posse 410 Sprint Cars will make their annual visit to the Fairgrounds on Sunday Night June 3^rd. They will race in a 30 lap main event featuring a $3500 to win, $300 to start purse. The event will be dedicated to the memory of longtime car owner and former Bedford promoter Roy Morral. Also racing that evening will be the Late Model Sportsman and Four Cylinders.
