BLACK TAKES SPECIAL LIMITED SHOW AT BEDFORD

    On a wild night of action at Bedford, Robby Black led the way with the big win in the headlining Limited  Late Model event. It was the first 2017 win at the track for Black, who is the leading active Limited win leader.   In other action, Evan Taylor beat his brother in the EMod race, Brian Weyandt Jr  took his first ever Semi Late event,Barry Weyandt won the wild Pure Stock event and Darren Howsare won the 4 Cylinder finale.  Due to the  Speedweek activity agreements, the Late Models had the night off 
 
    Limited rookie Greg Cornell led the .  field to the green with Kadden Smith and Taylor Farlling in tow.  But Robby Black was moving fast. He was up to fourth by lap three and and second by lap 5.   After he descended on Cornell, he shot by on lap 7 for the lead which he never relinquished.   Read more »

WALKER ARTHUR BEDFORD SPEEDWEEK STAR

    The 2017 edition of Late Model Speedweek stopped at Bedford and produced a first time winner, Walker Arthur.  Arthur became the 138th different Late Model winner at the historic speedway and it came in the track’s 600th Late Model event, adding his name to those who will be honored at festivities at the track later this season.  In other action, Alyssa Rowe held off the Taylor brothers to score the EMod win and Denny Pittman took the Pure Stock event after some post race controversy
 
      By the luck of the draw, Walker Arthur and Jeff Rine led the Late Model field to the green and Arthur grabbed the early lead.   Rine was in hot pursuit in the early laps, actually making a bid for the lead as he suffered a flat tire on lap 12.   The resulting yellow, the only slow down of the event, placed Austin Hubbard on Arthur’s rear bumper. HOLLENBECK SCORES BIG AT BEDFORD

       Chad Hollenbeck enjoyed his first career Bedford win earlier this season so he returned for another one Friday night.   This win was a big one as he took the 40 lap Johnny Grum tribute race at the track and pocketed $4000 for his efforts.   In other action, Jesse Snyder rallied  late to win the Semi Late event while Jonathan Taylor took the EMod win in similar fashion before Casey Fleegle closed the evening with the 4 Cylinder win.
 
    By the luck of the draw,  Ross Robinson and Amanda Whaley were the front row starters for the 40 lap Late Model event, and Robinson grabbed the early lead.  Robinson led through a couple early cautions  on lap 2 and lap four, ahead of Chad Hollenbeck and Jeff Rine who both got by Whaley in the early laps. SMITH AND RINE ADD TO BEDFORD WIN TOTALS

Mark Smith and Jeff Rine were the big winners as the URC sprints joined the regular Late Model program at Bedford Speedway Fridaynight.   Smith took the URC event to score his third career Bedford win,  while Rine’s Late Model win, the 22nd of his career and second in a row, moved him into a fourth place tie with Rick Eckert on the track win list.  In other action, Bob Jay moved to the top of the Semi Late career win list with his 30th conquest, Wayne Brenize won the 4 Cylinder event and Tyler Ritchey took the Pure Stock win.
 
      Chris Coyle led the URC field to the green flag and led the opening laps.   A lap seven caution closed the field on him and led to the most severe accident in the event as Brett Michalski and Keith Prutzman tangled on the restart, but Coyle hung on.   Read more »

TREY STARKS SCORES BIG BEDFORD WIN

    Trey Sparks rolled into Bedford Sunday as the AllStar Sprints made the last stop on their Pennsylvania  weekend, and before he left he had scored the big win.  It was is first ever Bedford victory as well as his first ever AllStar win.   In other Sunday action, Kyle Weyandt took the Pure Stock race while Casey Fleegle turned the tables by winning the 5 Cylinder finale in the tech line, the way he had lost in Friday action.
 
    Lucas Wolfe led the Sprint cars to the start and took the initial lead, before Ryan Smith took a wild spin and wall collision in turn one on lap two.   On the restart,  Trey Stark got the jump on Wolfe and zoomed into the lead, a position he held until the red flag halted proceedings on lap 5.  

RINE SCORES BEDFORD WIN

     Defending track champion Jeff Rine scored his first 2017 Late Model win at Bedford Friday night.  It was Rine’s first Bedford win since August 2015 and the 21st of his career, moving him into a fifth place tie with Tom Peck.  In other Action,  George Dixon was the recipient of good luck to score his first ever Limited win,  Jesse Snyder took his second consecutive Semi Late win , Evan Taylor won the EMod event before Darren Howsare took the 4 Cylinder finale.
 
    By the luck of the draw in the special event, Jeff Rine and Matt Cosner found themselves on the front row for the Late Model event.  After some first turn first lap chaos. Rine emerged with the lead while Cosner fell back to fifth.  Over the first 13 all green flag laps, Rine moved out to a huge advantage over DJ Troutman and Chuck Clise, but that was wiped out.
 
    On the restart, Rine again roared away, but Troutman and Clise found themselves under attack from Cosner.  Cosner got Clise on lap 15 and set off after Troutman.   Cosner finally made the move for second, getting by Troutmsn on the last lap,  but Rine was on his way to the win.  Cosner rallied for second, ahead of Troutman, Clise and Matt Sponaugle. COSNER BACK ON TRACK AT BEDFORD

April 22nd, 2017
 Matt Cosner, who ended 2016 with five consecutive wins, finally got his first 2017 victory at Bedford Friday night.  The win was Cosner’s ninth Late Model career win at the track and he has won seven of the last ten events dating back to July.  In other action, Mike Potosky held off the Taylor family for an EMod win, and Jesse Snyder came from deep in the field in Semi Late action  Erik Weyandt held off a mob to secure the Pure Stock win before Casey Fleegle took the 4 Cylinder nightcap.
 
     Dave Troutman brought the Late Model field to the green, but by the end of lap 1, Cosner was in hot pursuit.  After several laps trailing., Cosner shot by Troutman for the lead on lap 4, just as Chuck Clise brought out the first caution.
 
    On the restart, Cosner turned on the after burners and shot away from the field as the battle for second heated up.  Matt Sponaugle, Chad Hollenbeck and eventually Jeff Rine caught Troutman and wrestled for the spot. Read more »

DJ TROUTMAN SCORES AT BEDFORD

April 15th, 2017
    DJ Troutman rose to the occasion and scored a big win on the first regular Friday show of 2017 at Bedford.  It was his first win of the season and the ninth of his career at the track, moving him into the top 15 on the Late Model list.  Robby Black rallied late to take the Limited event, the 21st of his career as he edges closer to the top spot on that list.  Vic Vandergrift held off a furious challenge from Jonathan Taylor to take the EMod event, the third of his career.  Dakota Foor, who only a week ago scored his career first Pure Stock victory in the tech line, roared back to take one on the track only 5 days later, while Wayne Brenize took his fifth consecutive 4 Cylinder win, this time in the tech line.
 
    DJ Myers brought the Late Model field to the green, but second row starters DJ Troutman and Dan Angellichio sandwiched him on the backstretch, going three wide for the lead.  A quick yellow on lap two for a spinning Matt Cosner allowed everyone to take a breath, but Troutman had the lead on the restart.
 
    With Angellichio in tow, Troutman led as Jeff Rine and Matt Spopnaugle slid through the field.  Although he fell back early, Angellichio closed on Troutman, looking to present a challenge until he banked off the turn 4 wall on lap 15.   Angellichio recovered to run Troutman down again late in the event but fell short at the line.  Sponaugle, Rine and Chuck Clise trailed.  Sponaugle and Matt Cosner won the heats. HOLLENBECK GRABS BEDFORD OPENER

    After a two day weather delay, the 2017 season finally got started on Sunday at the Bedford Speedway.  It was well worth the wait for Chad Hollenbeck, who scored his first career Bedford Late Model win. in exciting fashion. In doing so he became the 137th different winner in the track’s history, and just barely held off a racer going for his record breaking sixth win in a row, Matt Cosner.  In keeping with the spirit of the new season, three other drivers also won their Bedford firsts.  Boyd Brode snared an exciting last lap win in Semi Late action, visitor Mike Potosky took the EMod event and Dakota Foor waited out the tech line to score a Pure Stock win.  Wayne Brenize ended the evening with another 4 Cylinder conquest.
 
      The Late Model event was slowed quickly as Brian Booze plastered the turn two wall on lap one, but on the restart , Chad Hollernbeck took off from the field.  By the time the next caution flew on lap 14, Hollenbeck had a sizeable lead over Matt Sponaugle, DJ Troutman and Jeff Rine,  who were wrist wrestling for second place.  The group ran in that order until the next caution on lap 17 for Troutman..   LOWERY AND RITCHEY LEAD WIN PARADE AT BEDFORD SATURDAY

  Brian Lowery and Drew Ritchey led the list of winners as Bedford ended the 2016 season with the second day of FallFest Saturday..  It was Lowery’s first Bedford Limited win since August 2015, and Ritchey’s first 305 win since this event last year.   Jonathan Taylor roared to another EMod win, the seventh of his season.  Jesse Snyder, Bill Replogle and Wayne Brenize  completed the season with wins.
    Brian Lowery got the jump on the Limited field at the start and led the field from the start.  Planting his mighty MOPAR on the cushion.  he easily led while the field battled for positions in his wake. Chaz Walls chased Lowery to the finish, followed by Donnie Farlling, George Dixon and Robby Black.  Dixon had started dead last in the field.  Lowery and Cam Zeigler won the heats.   Read more »
