HAUS REPRISES FAIR WEEK WIN AT BEDFORD

   It was almost a repeat of history Friday night at Bedford as three of the five faiiweek winners from two weeks ago repeated visits to Victory Lane.   Andy Haus started it off with a dominating win in the 25 lap Late Model event. Other Fairweek winners Brian Lowery in the Limiteds and Beau Aikey in the Pure Stocks also repeated.  Greg Cornell got a late surprise win in the Semi Late Muss Weyant Memorial before Ryan Peer won the 4 Cylinder nightcap.
    Chuck Clise led the first Late Model lap before Andy Haus boomed into contention.  Haus shot by on lap two and never looked back in the event which went all the way under green.  Clise fell into the clutches of DJ Troutman and they battled for second for several laps before Troutman got by. RINE HITS MILESTONE AT BEDFORD

Jeff Rine romped to another Late Model win Friday at the Bedford Speedway.  It was Rine’s third win of the season at the track and the 20th of his career, tieing him with track legends Turk Burket and Tom Peck for fifth on the all time list. Ed Mesaros dominated the 305 sprint event, continuing the streak of no repeat 305 winners at the track. Tom Warren  emerged with a surprise last lap Semi Late score.  Jonathan Taylor and Tom Brady closed the evening with wins in Emod and 4 Cylinder action.
   Pole sitter Eric Zembower led the Late Model field to the green and took off in the early laps.  But Jeff Rine was already on the move.  He came from fifth to takie second from Wayne Johnson on lap 4.  Rine immediately started closing the distance on Zembower, then zipped by for the lead on lap 6.   Read more »

FARLLING SURVIVES WILD CRASH TO WIN AT BEDFORD

Donnie Farlling survived one of the wildest crashes in Bedford Speedway history to win the Limited Late Model headline event at Bedford Friday night.  It was Farlling’s second win of the season at the track, his first ever multiple win season.  In other action, Zane Weicht  took the Semi Late event, Evan Taylor win the Emods, and John Howsare won his first Pure Stock event this century.  Tom Brady ended the evening with his first ever 4 Cylinder win.
    The 20 lap Limited event started off with a bang as the front row starters tangled with each other coming off turn four to get thegreen.  While the second row cars of Farlling and Curtis Heath slipped by, mass chaos ensued.  The melee collected every other car in the field with the carnage and debris the length of the frontstretch.  Due to the extensive crash cleanup and track repair time, the event was halted and the fireworks display was begun. HAUS IS HERO AT THE BEDFORD FAIR

After a week off to prepare for fair week, racing resumed at the Bedford Speedway Friday night.  Before a jam packed fairweek crowd, two drivers joined their fathers on the list of Bedford fair race winners.Andy Haus joined his legendary father Scott as he took the big Late model win,  and Alyssa Rowe joined her father Willy as she picked up her first ever Emod win.  Other winners in the big fair event were Brian Lowery (Limiteds)  Bob Jay (Semi Lates)  and Beau Aikey (Pure Stocks)
     Chuck Clise burst into the early lead in the Late Model event.  After a few laps of stretching out the field, Clise’s lead began to shrink as  Andy Haus closed with each passing lap and Matt Cosner, DJ Troutman and Dylan Yoder were gaining on both of them by lap 9.   Read more »

COLBY FRYE SWEEPS THROUGH BEDFORD

  Winning multiple Late Model features in one night is a rare feat at Bedford Speedway,  having happened only twice before in the history of the track.  After Friday the list is  three times  as Colby Frye swept both ends of the Late Model portion of makeup week double feature events.  Ironically, the last time Frye won at Bedford  he also had done a double, winning the Late Model and Limited events that night.
  In other action in the program made up of postponed events from both June 12 and June 19, Glen Ray held on to score his first ever Bedford Limited race, Greg Cornell won the Semi Late event, and Wayne Brenize won the 4 Cylinder race.  The Pure Stocks joined the Late Models with a pair of makeups, which were won by Brad Feight and Bill Replogle. TROUTMAN TROMPS THE FIELD AT BEDFORD

  DJ Troutman, who several times has led but not won this year at Bedford, rallied Friday night to score a big Late Model win at Bedford.  It was his first win of 2015 and career 7th, and came by the largest margin of any winner in a long time at the track.  Jim Radney and Ryan Greth split the exciting ARDC features, one a makeup from June 19.  Lou Wannyn continued his fine 2015 with his fourth Semi Late victory, Jonathan took both the Emod events, one a makeup from June 12, before Mike McDonald took the 4 cylinder race to cap the wild 7 event program.
     Wayne Johnson led the Late Model field to the green, but it took three tries to get the event underway.  On the third try, Johnson took the lead and pulled away from Eric Zembower and Andy Haus battling for second.  But  the man on the move was 6th starter Troutman.  He was fourth by lap two and took third on lap 4.  Two laps later he zipped Zembower and he swept by Johnson for the lead on lap 8.   Read more »

RINE TAKES BELATED BEDFORD SPEEDWEEK WIN

 On the third try, Bedford finally got its Late Model Speedweek event completed Sunday night.  The event, rained out both during original speedweek as well as the rescheduled night on Friday,  was a $4000 40 lap win for Bedford regular  Jeff Rine.   Rine’s second win of the season was the  19th of his  Bedford career, tying him with track legend Scott Rhodes at 7th on the all time list.  In other action on the Sunday card, Brian Lowery dominated the field for his first Limited win in almost a year, while Jim Sayler and Ed Vogel rallied late to take the Semi Late and Pure Stock mains.
    DJ Troutman took off at the start to lead the 26 car field.  He had Rine in tow with Matt Cosner in hot pursuit.  The front three received a scare on lap 13 as Eric Zembower spun in front of the leaders in turn 4.  On the restart the battle at the front resumed but many eyes were on Gregg Satterlee, making a run forward after starting 12th in the field, and already up to fifth. BEDFORD TRIES BUT LOSES TO RAIN

For the fourth time in the last five events,  rain was the story at Bedford Speedway Friday night.  Before the stoppage, Wayne Brenize won his first career 4 Cylinder event in a makeup of the June 5 show, and Jesse Snyder took the Semi Late main.  As the ARDC event was lining up, the on and off drizzle intensified and the remainder of the program was eventually stopped.
    With the makeup 4 Cylinder event being spun off first on the program, the class, which usually runs last each night, was dealt with a fast heavy track surface for the first time.  Wayne Brenize was up to the challenge as he shot by Dave Harclerode at the start and led the distance.  He had a huge lead wiped out when the caution flew on lap 10 and then survived a last lap restart, holding off both Dacron Powell and Darren Howsare to preserve the historic win.  Casey Fleegle came from 11th to finish 4th, followed by Ryan Peer and Bailey Johnson.  Brenize and Peer won the heats back on June 5. BEDFORD GETS RAIN AFTER GROUP WINS MAKEUP

 For the third time in the last four weeks Bedford Speedway was weather affected Friday night.  Completed was the Pure Stock makeup from the week prior and all the qualifications for the new show, but a big storm blasted into the area during the kids candy toss, postponing the feature events until a later date.
     Travis Group was the Pure Stock winner after John Howsare failed his trip through the tech line,  his first of the season.  Howsare had started on the front row and led the distance.  Beau Aikey and a mob put on a great battle for second for the duration of the event, with Group securing that spot on lap 5.  Group was no match for Howsare who was on a rail and won easily. HODNETT HOLDS OFF ALL STARS AT BEDFORD

June 8th, 2015
 Greg Hodnett, pretty much the recent master at the Bedford Speedway in the last few years, scored again Sunday as the All Star Sprints invaded the track.  It was Hodnett’s fifth career win in  the infrequent 410 Sprint car visits over the last few seasons.  In other action,  Lou Wannyn won the Semi Late event while Ryan Peer took the 4 Cylinder finale.
    Robbie Stillwaggen led the stout Sprint car to the green and led the first lap, but Hodnett was wound up and zoomed by on lap two.   Hodnett opened up a large lead early on as Ryan Smith and Danny Dietrich worked free of the pack.   Read more »
