It was extra distances for everyone Friday at Bedford in the event billed as the Muss Weyant 100 unfolded.  Brian Weyandt Jr rallied late to take the 30 lap Semi Late event, a move which solidified his point lead in the class with only one more point race to go.  Mike Altobelli Jr was in regular form as he cruised to the EMod win in that 25 lapper.  Jason Haggerty fought off serious challenges the whole distance to score the 25 lap Pure Stock victory before Wayne Brenize closed the evening with another 4 Cylinder win.

The Semi Late event started off a bit rough as several cars piled up at the green, eliminating  recent winner Dave Brown.  On the next try, Bill Replogle shot into the lead but he was quickly chased down by John Miller.  After several laps of side by side racing, Miller edged by for the lead on lap 7.    Replogle did not surrender and was all over Miller for the next few laps until Rick Potter joined in and took second. Logan Spahr and Spike Moore were the big winners as Bedford Speedway presented a second night of racing Sunday night.    Spahr took the 305 Sprint car event which featured 41 entries while Moore took the Limited headliner.    In other action, Alyssa Rowe survived a Taylor family challenge to win the Emod event before Josh Corbin closed out the program with the 4 Cylinder win.

After a season featuring a lot of bad luck, Spike Moore earned an up front starting position in the Limited 20 lapper.  He got the lead on at the start and basically never looked back.   Taylor Farlling secured the second spot on lap 7 and chased Moore for the duration, but Moore was never seriously challenged.    10th starter Matt Parks rallied late to move into third, but the leaders were never challenged. After a tough luck season,  Justin Weaver turned things around to score the Late Model win at Bedford Friday night.  It was Weaver’s first ever Bedford Late Model win and he became the 155th different winner at the track.  He was also the 12th consecutive different Bedford winner in the 2023 season.

In other action, Tony Jackson  took the  special wingless Super Sportsman visit to the track, before Dave Brown, back from a long retirement, took the Semi Late main.  Denver Dishong was the Pure Stock victor and Isaac Kormanski took the 4 Cylinder finale. Read more »

Making an infrequent appearance at the track, Coleby Frye dominated the Great Bedford Fair Late Model event at the track Friday night.  In the event, run in honor of late Bedford car builder and racer Gary Martz, Frye completely dominated, at one point holding almost a half lap lead, in scoring his 7th career Bedford win but his first since August 2017.

In other action in front of the huge Fair week crowd,  Nick Bechtel took the Semi Late win, Jason Hafferty survived a last lap scare to win the Pure Stock event and Colin Welsh, back in his own car, took the 4 Cylinder victory. Read more »

Christian Rumsey came clear from New York to race at Bedford Friday night and left with the big prize as he took the 305 sprint car feature.  It was his first ever Bedford win as he held off the late challenge from Robbie Barchey to claim the victory.

In other action, Kyle Lear took the Limited win, Derek Hinish was the victor in the annual Charlie Walter Pure Stock feature, Evan Taylor won the EMod feature before Wayne Brenize continued his unretirement  tour with another 4 Cylinder win. Read more »

Only one week after Tyler Emory added his name to the list of Bedford winners, Brian Booze added his own name as he scored his first ever win at the track Friday night.   He became the 154th  different winner in the long Late Model history at the track after the hard fought win.  At the other end of the spectrum,  Bob Jay, one of the all time leaders  in total wins in different  classes, perservered to take the Semi Late win.

In other action George Dixon, after a season of frustration, scored the EMod win,  Kyle Beckett scored the Pure Stock win and Derek long ended the night with the 4 cylinder success.  In between the action on kids night at the track.  mobs of kids swarmed the speedway in one of the now famous Bedford candy throws. The Bedford Speedway ran a rare Thursday show as part of 2023 Late Model Speedweek and the star of the show was Tyler Emory.   Driving the Pete Cameron owned 72 it was the first career Bedford win for Emory and he became the 153rd different winner at the historic track. The win  in the 35 lap event was worth $4000 to the team, plus a $200 reward for having set fast time for the show.

In the support event, John Miller led a rare Ford 1-2 sweep as he came from the pack to score the Semi Late win in his Ford beating Bob Jay in a similar racer. Read more »

In a dominating performance, Briggs Danner dominated the USAC wingless sprint event at Bedford Friday night.  Danner started deep in the field, roared to the front early and won the 25 lap event by almost three seconds.

In other action,  Greg Hainsey held off frequent challenges from Josh Bumberger for the Semi Late win, the Taylors made a family affair in the EMod race,  Cody Jarvie held off a mob in Pure Stock action and recently unretired  Wayne Brenize took the 4 Cylinder finale. Read more »

Erick Rudolph made the visit to Bedford Speedway Sunday very rewarding as he swept away with the win in the annual visit of the BRP Big Block modifieds. In other action on Modified madness night, Drake Troutman rallied late to take the track EMod win before Bill Vanmeter ended the show with a Crate modified win.

After the pill draw, Rudolph earned an up front start and made the best of things.  After a few laps of side by side racing with Jimmy Holden he pulled into the lead and was never really threatened.  Billy Pauch moved into second and looked to challenge Rudolph for a few laps, but Rudolph held on and was ahead when the caution flew at the halfway mark. Sometimes it pays to be lucky as well as good.  Tim Smith proved that Friday at Bedford after he led early, lost the lead but rallied late to claim the Late Model win at Bedford Friday night. After getting a late start on the season,  it was Smith’s first win of 2023 and third career Bedford win.

In other action, Ryan Sager led pole to pole to grab the limited win, his first since 2020, Bill Replogle, after a season of frustration, took the Semi Late win, and Kyle Beckett took the Pure Stock event before Shawn Smith ended the evening with a 4 Cylinder win. Read more »
