Only one week after Tyler Emory added his name to the list of Bedford winners, Brian Booze added his own name as he scored his first ever win at the track Friday night.   He became the 154th  different winner in the long Late Model history at the track after the hard fought win.  At the other end of the spectrum,  Bob Jay, one of the all time leaders  in total wins in different  classes, perservered to take the Semi Late win.

In other action George Dixon, after a season of frustration, scored the EMod win,  Kyle Beckett scored the Pure Stock win and Derek long ended the night with the 4 cylinder success.  In between the action on kids night at the track.  mobs of kids swarmed the speedway in one of the now famous Bedford candy throws. The Bedford Speedway ran a rare Thursday show as part of 2023 Late Model Speedweek and the star of the show was Tyler Emory.   Driving the Pete Cameron owned 72 it was the first career Bedford win for Emory and he became the 153rd different winner at the historic track. The win  in the 35 lap event was worth $4000 to the team, plus a $200 reward for having set fast time for the show.

In the support event, John Miller led a rare Ford 1-2 sweep as he came from the pack to score the Semi Late win in his Ford beating Bob Jay in a similar racer. Read more »

In a dominating performance, Briggs Danner dominated the USAC wingless sprint event at Bedford Friday night.  Danner started deep in the field, roared to the front early and won the 25 lap event by almost three seconds.

In other action,  Greg Hainsey held off frequent challenges from Josh Bumberger for the Semi Late win, the Taylors made a family affair in the EMod race,  Cody Jarvie held off a mob in Pure Stock action and recently unretired  Wayne Brenize took the 4 Cylinder finale. Read more »

Erick Rudolph made the visit to Bedford Speedway Sunday very rewarding as he swept away with the win in the annual visit of the BRP Big Block modifieds. In other action on Modified madness night, Drake Troutman rallied late to take the track EMod win before Bill Vanmeter ended the show with a Crate modified win.

After the pill draw, Rudolph earned an up front start and made the best of things.  After a few laps of side by side racing with Jimmy Holden he pulled into the lead and was never really threatened.  Billy Pauch moved into second and looked to challenge Rudolph for a few laps, but Rudolph held on and was ahead when the caution flew at the halfway mark. Sometimes it pays to be lucky as well as good.  Tim Smith proved that Friday at Bedford after he led early, lost the lead but rallied late to claim the Late Model win at Bedford Friday night. After getting a late start on the season,  it was Smith’s first win of 2023 and third career Bedford win.

In other action, Ryan Sager led pole to pole to grab the limited win, his first since 2020, Bill Replogle, after a season of frustration, took the Semi Late win, and Kyle Beckett took the Pure Stock event before Shawn Smith ended the evening with a 4 Cylinder win. Read more »

Josh Spicer and Matt Parks celebrated Memorial Day Sunday with popular Bedford wins.  Spicer took the special 305 victory while Parks was winner in the accompanying Limited event.  Jonathan Taylor held off a frantic last lap challenge to hold off Mike Altobelli for the EMod win.    Brad Marker and Tom Brady split the 4 Cylinder events, one a curfewed out makeup, to complete the wild racing evening..

AJ Barton was the early leader of the 305 event but he had company at the front.    After several laps of challenging, Logan Jones finally got by to take over on lap 6,  But  by then Josh Spicer had rallied from deep in the field to join the lead battle. Read more »

Dylan Yoder rose to the occasion and dominated the annual Turk Burket classic at Bedford Friday night.  The win was his fourth career win at the track but his first since September 2016 and was worth $5000.   Ending a even longer winless streak, Rick Potter scored a Semi Late win.  It was Potter’s first win at Bedford since 2003. Charlie Clise ended the program with another dramatic come from behind Pure Stock win.

Bryan Bernheisel jumped into the lead in the 40 lap Burket tribute, but Yoder flew by to lead lap two.     Jeff Rine moved in to hassle Bernheisel before he got by on lap 7.  But Yoder was already off to a commanding lead.  Read more »

The wingless Super Sportsmen made their annual Bedford appearance Friday night and Tony Jackson thrilled the crowd with the exciting win.    Devin Weyandt  took the win in the co headline Limited event,  In other action,  Mike Altobelli Jr scored the EMod win in a wild last lap move and Bill Replogle turned around a season of frustration with a hard fought Semi Late win.  The 4 Cylinder finale fell to the curfew, the first time that has happened at the track in several years.

Pole sitter Cliff Brian jumped in the lead at the start and held that spot through several early yellows.   He got away on each restart but  Tony Jackson moved in to challenge more seriously as the laps ticked off.     After several attempts, Jackson finally got by for the lead on lap 10.  but his work was not over as Brian remained in contention. After falling one spot short of a big win in the Billy Winn classic last week, Kyle Lee  got a measure of redemtion  by winning  at Bedford Friday night.    The win in the 25 lap Late Model event was the second of his Bedford career and came in dominating fashion in the Doug Timmons owned car.   In the accompanying URC sprint car race, Jason Shultz scored his second Bedford win.

In other action in the wild evening, Brian Weyandt Jr was the survivor in the Semi Latte event while Charlie Clise took the Pure Stock feature before  Josh Corbin put the PY cruiser in Victoty Lane in the 4 Cylinder finale for his first ever win. Read more »

Mason Zeigler, who makes only infrequent Bedford visits, made his presence felt in a big way as he scored the win in the annual Billy Winn classic at the track Friday night.  The win,  his first at the track since 2020, was worth $8700 in the event which is run in the memory of the first Bedford feature winner way back in 1936.

In support action,  Drake Troutman scored a rousing last lap win in the EMods event  before finishing the evening  by defeating a  lethargic 4 car Crate Mod field in their first visit of the season.

Mason Zeigler was the benefactor in the pill draw event as he drew the pole position in the 50 lapper.  He got the jump on fellow front row starter Kyle Lee to lead the first lap and set the stage for the entire event.   A quick spin brought out the caution on lap one with another occurring on the restart,  but after that the event went 48 straight green flag laps to the conclusion.
