  LOWERY AND RITCHEY LEAD WIN PARADE AT BEDFORD SATURDAY

  Brian Lowery and Drew Ritchey led the list of winners as Bedford ended the 2016 season with the second day of FallFest Saturday..  It was Lowery’s first Bedford Limited win since August 2015, and Ritchey’s first 305 win since this event last year.   Jonathan Taylor roared to another EMod win, the seventh of his season.  Jesse Snyder, Bill Replogle and Wayne Brenize  completed the season with wins.
    Brian Lowery got the jump on the Limited field at the start and led the field from the start.  Planting his mighty MOPAR on the cushion.  he easily led while the field battled for positions in his wake. Chaz Walls chased Lowery to the finish, followed by Donnie Farlling, George Dixon and Robby Black.  Dixon had started dead last in the field.  Lowery and Cam Zeigler won the heats.   Read more »

COSNER GETS ONE FOR THE THUMB AT BEDFORD

Matt Cosner capped off a tremendous late season run with another big win on the first night of Bedford’s season ending FallFest Friday night.  It was Cosner’s fifth Bedford Late Model win in a row and sixth out of the last seven events at the track.  Cosner’ s hot streak ties the 25 year old record of Rick Eckert, who also had five in a row.   Wayne Brenize won the 4 Cylinder Friday night finale.

    Rick Singleton and Dave Troutman brought the field to the green for the 25 lapper and Singleton got the jump at the start.  Singleton shot away from the field, opening up a huge advantage over the first ten laps.   Cosner started sixth in the field and had only moved up one position by lap 10.   Read more »

COSNER EXPRESS ROLLS ON AT BEDFORD

  Matt Cosner continued his late season streak by winning again Friday night at Bedford.  The win in the Labor Day 55, the longest race at the track each year,  was Cosner’s fifth of the 2016 season.  It was also Cosner’s fourth in a row at the track, a feat which hasn’t been accomplished since Scott Rhodes string in 2003.  Cosner (with five)  ended the point season as the only Late Model driver with multiple wins at the track.  Greg Cornell and Wayne Brenize clinched their 2016 track titles with wins in Semi Late and 4 Cylinder action, while Jonathan Taylor roared to yet another EMod win.
     Keith Barbara led the Late Model field to the green in the 55 lapper, and he took off at the start.  Although Barbara moved out to a small lead early, after about lap ten, Cosner closed the gap.   When the two leaders moved into heavy lapped traffic on lap 15, tension grew as DJ Troutman, Jeff Rine and Dylan Yoder moved into contention.  The five leaders and four lapped cars crowded together, but on lap 16 Cosner shot through the mob, taking the lead in the process.    Read more »

COSNER SCORES HAT TRICK AT BEDFORD

 Matt Cosner continued his late season hot streak with another Late Model win at Bedford Friday night.  It was Cosner’s third win in a row at the track and fourth win in the last five weeks.   Ralph Morgan devastated the field to score his first ever Bedford Limited win, before   Jim Dearmitt scored his first ever Bedford Pure Stock victory.   Ryan Peer ended the evening with his class leading fifth 4 Cylinder win of the year.   In the special appearance of the PenMar vintage club, Glen Pobletts easily won.
    It took 4 tries to get the Late Model event underway.   The first recall was for a sloppy start, but the others were all for spins and crashes on the start.  But on the fourth try, Matt Parks got by pole sitter Chuck Clise to lead lap one.  Clise recovered and gave Parks fits until retaking the lead on lap 4.   Read more »

COSNER CONTINUES ROLL AT BEDFORD

  Matt Cosner continued his  hot 2016 season with a win in the special Friday night at Bedford.  The 30 lap victory, his fourth of the year, was worth $2500, and he remains the only Late Model driver with multiple 2016 wins at the track.  In other action, Lou Wannyn took his third Semi Late win, Jonathan Taylor took his   fifth EMod win and Wayne Brenize took his fourth 4 Cylinder event.
    Gene Knaub shot by pole sitter Jeff Rine at the start of the Late Model 30 lapper and ran off for the early lead.   Cosner shot by Rine later on the first lap and took off after Knaub.   Cosner had caught and was all over Knaub for the lead by the time the first caution flew for a slowing DJ Troutman on the backstretch on lap 14.. COSNER SCORES AGAIN AT BEDFORD

  Matt Cosner, enjoying a stellar mid season run, rallied late to take the Late Model event at Bedford Friday night.  It was Cosner’s third win of 2016 at the track where he has been the only multiple winner this season.  In a spectacular Semi Late race featuring a photo finish and post race drama, Tom Warren was awarded the win in the Muss Weyant Memorial.  Alyssa Rowe, Brad Feight and Ryan Peer also enjoyed trips to the Bedford stage.
    Dave Troutman got the jump on Jason Schmidt to lead the opening laps of the Late Model event.    Andy Haus also got by Schmidt for second but did not close on Troutman in the early laps.  While the first two ran alone at the front, Matt Cosner was booming through the field.  Cosner was up to fourth on lap 4, and slid by Schmidt on lap 8. SPONAUGLE CHARGES TO WIN AT BEDFORD

Before a huge crowd on 5 Dollar night, Matt Sponauigle snagged the big win at Bedford Friday night.  It was his first Bedford win in almost exactly two years,  and came in dramatic fashion, as he chased down the leader with a late race rally.  In other action, Jesse Snyder came from deep in the field for the Semi Late win,  Bill Replogle  barely held off Justin Queen for the Pure Stock win and Tom Brady took the 4 cylinder nightcap.
     DJ Myers blasted out to the early lead in the Late Model 25 lapper and opened up a sizeable lead in the first few laps before a quick yellow on lap 7.   Matt Sponaugle had been wrestling with Troy Swindell for second,  and he had just secured that spot on lap six. Read more »

COSNER WIINS BEDFORD FAIR EVENT

July 30th, 2016
    Matt Cosner rallied late to add his name to the long list of fair week winners at the Great Bedford Fair Friday night.   The win, before a cram packed crowd was Cosner’s second of the year, both coming in prestigious races, the Milt Miller classic and now the fair event.   Robby Black held off Kyle Lee’s advances to score the Limited event, while Travis Calhoun held off two challengers for the Semi Late win.  Jim Sayler, Beau Aikey and Ryan Peer won in other action.
    With the fair week format, starting lineups were determined by 2016 point standings at the track.  Eric Zembower and Andy Haus brought the Late Model field to the green and it was Haus ahead on lap one.    Dylan Yoder finally got by Zembower for second on lap 4, but Haus was way ahead by then.  Matt Cosner took third on lap six and closed on Yoder in about a lap.   Read more »

CLISE BAGS BEDFORD BIG ONE

A stout field of outsiders descended on Bedford for the Billy Winn  Classic Friday night but  the big check stayed close to home as Chuck Clise scored the big win.  The event, named for the first Bedford winner 80 years ago, paid Clise $8000 for the 50 laps.  It was Clise’s first Bedford win in almost exactly two years.  In Semi Late action, Greg Cornell survived a bit of late race controversy to take his second win of the season.  In EMod action,  Bill Pluta scored his first ever feature win after years of trying.
     42 Late Models were on hand for the event.  After setting fast time and winning his heat, Matt Cosner survived the redraw and started on the pole for the 50 lapper.  But Clise got he jump at the start   Colby Frye also got by Cosner on the first lap and the three got away as the field jostled for positions behind them.   Read more »

HAUS AND SMITH SCORE AT BEDFORD

July 9th, 2016
  Andy Haus used some late race luck to score the big Late Model win at Bedford Friday night.   Mark Smith used late race brute strength to take the lead, then a stroke of luck to secure the win in the companion URC portion of the event.  In other action, Lou Wannan too the Seni Late win, Bill Replogle won the Pure Stock race and Darren Howsare closed the evening with a 4 Cylinder win.
